Janelle Yausif: Little Girl with a Big Voice!

The crowd at IMTA 2013 was left awestruck after an inspiring performance by ten year old Janelle Yausif. The prodigal vocalist took top prize at the International Model & Talent Association’s ‘Child Singer’ competition, adding to the singing sensation’s already impressive list of awards.

Born in Toronto in 2002, Janelle began singing opera at age six. Her journey as a professional soprano vocalist took flight in 2012 and she hasn’t slowed down since. Janelle’s passion for singing has lead her to Toronto, Montréal, Cuba, Rome, and Los Angeles (IMTA 2013). She finds inspiration in Andrea Bocelli and her dream is to one day perform with the legendary opera singer. Janelle is currently training with Barbizon Canada who is working hard to make sure audiences everywhere see more of Janelle and hear her magnificent voice in the near future. 

Janelle’s talent has been recognized through numerous awards in addition to The IMTA 2013 Child Singer Award in LA, representing ICE Agency. At the Rome Music Festival Opera 2012 she won both the Talent Award and was recognized as being the festival’s Youngest Opera Singer. At Showbiz Mondial 2012, Janelle won First Place Kids Singer. At Miss All Canadian Pageant 2010 and 2011 Janelle received First Place for Talent accepting numerous awards and trophies for acting, singing, modeling and TV Personality. 

I was lucky enough to catch up with Janelle after her busy week in Los Angeles to hear about her experience.

“I had a lot of fun, I loved being on that big stage to perform for the wonderful audience”. Janelle also said that everyone was extremely friendly and how happy she was winning Child Singer. When asked what she thought of the IMTA experience she said “I would recommend IMTA for anyone with talent to go to this convention and show their talent to the world!”

Alana Greszata for Esee Models in Beijing

Esee Model Management, Beijing, have added Alana Greszata ( Toronto model, instructor and IMTA alumni) to the website for the agency in Beijing. She is China modeling for two months and has done numerous fashion shows and catalogs shoots already.
